Description
Description
Château Pezat Blanc is a dry white Bordeaux built on Sauvignon Blanc with Sémillon and a little Muscadelle.
White wine has been made in Bordeaux for as long as red, and the region's dry whites rest on two grapes: Sauvignon Blanc for drive and cut, and Sémillon for weight and texture, with a small amount of Muscadelle sometimes added for perfume. Pezat comes from the Right Bank, from the gentle limestone and clay country on the Dordogne side of the region, where white grapes have been grown for centuries alongside the reds. Wines in this style are picked early to preserve acidity, pressed gently and fermented at cool temperatures, usually in stainless steel, with some time on lees to build a little more texture and weight before an early bottling.
Serve well chilled at 8 to 10°C with oysters, grilled fish, goat's cheese or a summer salad; it is made for drinking young.
