Clos Sainte Magdeleine Cassis Rouge 2024

Clos Sainte Magdeleine Cassis Rouge is a rare red bottling from Cassis, the small coastal Provençal appellation better known for its whites and rosés.

Clos Sainte Magdeleine has been in the hands of the Zafiropulo family since 1921, when they acquired this dramatic seaside estate beneath the limestone cliffs of Cap Canaille. The vineyards are planted on steep restanques, hand-built limestone terraces overlooking the Mediterranean, where sea breezes and marl-and-sandstone soils shape wines of freshness and salinity. Now guided by Jonathan Sack, the domaine has revived a small parcel of red plantings on the seaside slopes of Cap Canaille, restoring a style of wine once more common in Cassis, farmed with the same attention to terroir that defines the estate's whites.
