Cullen Diana Madeline 2024

Cullen Diana Madeline is the estate's flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, named for the woman who planted the vineyard.

Margaret River's Wilyabrup sub-region has the maritime climate and free-draining gravel that make Cabernet reliable here in a way it rarely is elsewhere in Australia. Diana Madeline Cullen and her husband Kevin planted the first vines in 1971; their daughter Vanya has run the estate since 1989 and took it to biodynamic certification and later carbon neutrality. The fruit is sorted berry by berry, fermented with wild yeast and matured in French oak barriques.

Decant an hour ahead and serve at 17 degrees with roast lamb or aged beef. It rewards fifteen years or more.
