Cullen Mangan Vineyard Red Moon 2024

Cullen Red Moon is a five-variety blend from the estate's biodynamic Mangan vineyard, led by Malbec and Grenache.

The 2024 is 33 per cent Malbec, 23 per cent Grenache, 22 per cent Mourvèdre, 17 per cent Petit Verdot and 5 per cent Merlot, a mix of Bordeaux and Mediterranean varieties planted at Mangan between 1995 and 1997 as a hedge against a warming Margaret River. The name refers to a total lunar eclipse, when light filtering through the atmosphere dapples the moon red, which fits an estate that farms and picks to the biodynamic calendar. Fruit is hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeast without additions and matured around eight months in older oak, unfined.

Serve slightly cool at 16 degrees with charcuterie, grilled lamb or roast vegetables. Drink over the next eight years.
