Description

Dal Zotto Sangiovese is a King Valley red from Tuscany's most important variety.

Sangiovese gives sour cherry fruit, firm acidity and a savoury finish, which makes it a natural food wine, and it needs a long season to ripen its tannins properly. The King Valley's elevation in north-east Victoria provides that. The Dal Zotto family planted the valley in 1987 as part of the Italian community that made it Australia's home for these grapes. Maturation is in large oak rather than small barrels.

Serve at 16 degrees with pasta, grilled meats or pizza. Drink over the next six years.
