Domaine Antoine Jobard Bourgogne Rouge 2022

This is Antoine Jobard's Bourgogne Rouge, a blend of four lieux-dits on the flat land below Pommard.

Domaine Antoine Jobard is far better known for Meursault, and the red is a small part of the operation. The holding covers 1.5 hectares across four sites below the village — L'Aumônne, Taupe Maison Dieu, En la Taupe and Les Crenilles — and a further hectare of vines was pulled out and replanted in 2024. Jobard describes the wine as a petit Pommard, and the harvest regime and vinification are geared towards brightness, perfume and what he calls digestibility: picking for freshness rather than sugar, gentle extraction, and ageing in older wood so the fruit stays in front. In his own words, it is the kind of Burgundy he wants to enjoy and to drink, which is a fair description of the result in the glass.

Ready on release and good for three to five years. Serve lightly cool at 16°C with roast chicken, charcuterie or a mushroom tart.
