Domaine Benoit Badoz Trousseau Marnes Rouges Côtes du Jura 2022

Domaine Benoît Badoz Trousseau is made from a Jura red variety grown almost nowhere else.

Trousseau needs the warmest, stoniest sites in the Jura to ripen, and it gives a pale but structured red with real grip, quite distinct from the lighter Poulsard. Marnes rouges refers to the red marl soils the vines grow on. The Jura has around two thousand hectares in total, so varieties like this exist in tiny quantity.

Serve at 15 degrees with roast poultry, charcuterie or comté. It develops over eight years.
