Domaine Collotte Bourgogne Blanc 2024

Domaine Collotte Bourgogne Blanc is a regional white from a red wine domaine at the top of the Côte de Nuits.

Bourgogne Blanc is the regional appellation covering Chardonnay grown anywhere in Burgundy, and for a Côte de Nuits domaine it generally comes from parcels on the flatter land below the slope or from vines too young for a village label. Domaine Collotte is based at Marsannay, the northernmost village of the Côte de Nuits, where limestone scree and clay give whites with a firm, mineral edge rather than tropical ripeness. White wine has always been a small part of production this far north, where Pinot Noir dominates the plantings. The wine is made simply, with fermentation kept cool and oak used sparingly, so that it drinks well from release.

Dry and crisp with modest weight, it suits shellfish, salads and light poultry dishes; serve at around 11 degrees.
