Description

Domaine Daniel Bouland Morgon Corcelette is the concrete-raised, earliest-drinking wine in the domaine's set of Corcelette bottlings.

Corcelette lies on the Chiroubles side of Morgon, where sandy granitic soils produce more perfume and finer, rounder tannins than the schist-influenced terroirs closer to the Côte du Py. Daniel Bouland keeps his younger vines here separate from the oldest bush vines, which are bottled as Vieilles Vignes, though younger is relative: these average around 60 years. As with every wine at the domaine, fermentation is whole-bunch with indigenous yeasts, and the must is foot-trodden at the end to prolong the ferment. Where the old-vine cuvées are raised in wooden foudre, this one stays in concrete tank, which keeps the fruit forward and the frame lighter. It is the prettiest and most immediately accessible of the range.

Unusually ready for a young Bouland Morgon, and good for four to six years. Serve at 16°C with charcuterie, roast chicken or a mushroom tart.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
