Domaine de l'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts Saint Georges is the larger of the domaine's two walled monopoles, here in a 375ml half-bottle.

The 7.2-hectare Clos des Forêts Saint Georges lies at Premeaux-Prissey, at the southern end of Nuits-Saint-Georges, and runs the full width of the slope from the forest above to the road below. That span takes in three distinct terroirs: white oolitic limestone at the top, pink Prémeaux limestone through the middle and clay-rich Ladoix limestone at the base. Géraldine Godot now manages, harvests and vinifies each of these separately. Historically this was the most structured wine in the l'Arlot range, the most obviously Nuits in character, but working parcel by parcel has drawn out a finer, more Premeaux-inflected expression. The 2023 was made from wholly destemmed fruit, fermented spontaneously and aged for 16 months in French oak, 40% of it new.

Cellar for five to twelve years, though the half-bottle will come round sooner; serve with duck, mushroom risotto or roast veal at 16-18°C.
