Domaine Faiveley Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Porêts-Saint-Georges' is a Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru that lies directly below Les Saint-Georges on the slope.

The vineyard occupies the gentler ground beneath its famous neighbour at the southern end of the commune, on gravelly, well-drained soil washed down from the hill above. Like several climats in this sector it borrows the Saint-Georges suffix from that vineyard, a convention adopted when the town itself did the same in 1892. Nuits-Saint-Georges is the working capital of the Côte de Nuits, with no Grand Cru but more than forty Premiers Crus, and the southern stretch towards Prémeaux is known for the firmest and most structured wines. Faiveley has been based in the town since 1825 and is now in its seventh generation.

Serve at about 16 degrees with roast beef, game or a mature hard cheese. It repays ten years or more in the cellar.
