Description
Domaine Faiveley Nuits Saint Georges 'Les Montroziers' is a village Pinot Noir from Nuits-Saint-Georges, the town that has been home to the Faiveley family since 1825.
Nuits-Saint-Georges anchors the southern end of the Côte de Nuits and is the commercial heart of the region, with more merchant houses than any other village on the slope. Its vineyards fall into two parts: the sector north of the town, closer in character to neighbouring Vosne-Romanée, and the stretch running south through Prémeaux, where the wines are firmer and more structured. There is no Grand Cru here, but the list of Premiers Crus is long. Faiveley has been based in the town since 1825 and is now in its seventh generation; grapes are sorted on arrival, fermented in the traditional manner and matured in French oak barrels, only a portion of them new.
Serve at around 16 degrees with roast beef, duck or a mushroom dish. It drinks well from about three years and holds for a decade.
