Domaine Faiveley Nuits-Saint-Georges 'Les Saint-Georges' Premier Cru 2022

Domaine Faiveley Nuits-Saint-Georges 'Les Saint-Georges' Premier Cru is a Pinot Noir from the vineyard that gave the town its name.

Les Saint-Georges has been under vine for something close to a thousand years, and in 1892 the town of Nuits appended the vineyard's name to its own. The climat sits on the lower mid-slope at the southern edge of the commune, on deep stony soil at the foot of a scree fan, and it is the site most often put forward for promotion to Grand Cru on this part of the Côte. Faiveley is one of its principal owners. The house was founded in the town in 1825 and is now run by the seventh generation, working each climat separately, sorting the fruit twice and ageing in French oak barrels.

Serve at around 16 degrees with roast game, beef or truffled dishes; a wine that rewards fifteen years in the cellar.
