Description
Domaine Henri Germain Poruzots is a Meursault premier cru from the firmer, more structured northern end of the village's slope.
Les Poruzots sits above the village on the Volnay side of the commune, next to Genevrières, on stony, well-drained soils. It has a reputation for producing Meursault with more grip and structure than Charmes, and wines that reward keeping. Germain farms a small parcel and follows the same unhurried approach used across the cellar, with fermentation and long ageing in used Burgundian barrels and no attempt to force the wine open early.
Best from three years and good for a decade or more. Serve at 10-12°C with roast pork, grilled crayfish or a mushroom and comté gratin.
