Domaine Hubert Lamy Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly, here in magnum, comes from two contrasting parcels immediately above the Chevalier-Montrachet grand cru.

En Remilly climbs the slope above the Puligny grand crus, and its altitude and limestone soils explain why it is among the most sought-after wines Olivier Lamy makes. He holds two hectares planted in 1989 in two distinct plots. The first sits near his Clos de la Chatenière vineyard, a warmer site on a loosely knit mix of clay and limestone that supplies flesh and layers. The second is far rockier, on close to pure limestone directly beside Chevalier-Montrachet, and it provides the cutting tension that holds the wine together. Frost in April 2021 hit this vineyard harder than any other on the estate, with final yields of around 5 hl/ha, so very little was made and less again was bottled in magnum.

Worth four or five years and likely to run twenty in this format. Serve at 10-12°C with turbot, lobster or a mature Comté.
