Description
Les Arbousiers is a certified organic old-vine Côtes du Rhône from a single high-altitude plot in the Gard.
Domaine la Réméjeanne sits at Sabran, in the wooded high country on the right bank of the Rhône, and the wine takes its name from the arbutus that grows around the vineyard. The blend is 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah from one plot of old vines at 320 metres, an elevation that lets both varieties ripen fully while keeping the acidity that is often lost further south. Olivier Klein farms organically and works with a light hand in the cellar: natural fermentation with 70% whole bunches, no added sulphur during ageing, then raising the Syrah in concrete tank and the Grenache in large oak casks before bottling unfiltered. The style is deliberately poised rather than extracted, with silky texture in place of the weight and firm tannins common in old-vine southern blends.
Ready now and good for five or six years, it suits grilled lamb, tomato-based dishes and charcuterie; serve at 16–18°C.
