Domaine la Réméjeanne Un Air de Réméjeanne is a certified-organic Côtes du Rhône made expressly as a vin de soif.

Domaine la Réméjeanne is in the Gard, on the right bank of the Rhône, where Olivier Klein farms certified-organic vineyards on high, sandy-limestone ground around the hamlet of Sabran. Un Air de Réméjeanne is the entry point to the range, seventy per cent Grenache to thirty per cent Syrah. What Klein is after here is juicy, floating fruit and sweetly floral perfume rather than density or structure. To that end, following a five-day cold soak the wine spends only a brief time on skins, and a significant proportion of whole bunches goes into the ferment for lift and buoyancy. Ageing takes place in concrete and the wine is bottled within a year of harvest, so no oak intrudes on the fruit. The domaine also ships it in magnum, on the reasonable grounds that the bottle empties quickly.

Made for drinking young, over two or three years. Serve at 16-18°C, or lightly chilled, with grilled lamb, merguez sausages or a ratatouille.
