Domaine Moreau-Naudet Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard 1.5L MAGNUM 2022

Domaine Moreau-Naudet Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard, in magnum, comes from the most south-westerly and one of the coolest of the Chablis premiers crus.

Les Beauregards lies at the far end of the left bank of the Serein, rising to 300 metres, which makes it one of the highest, steepest and coolest premiers crus in Chablis; the clay cover is shallow and limestone marl is never far from the surface. The parcel has been in the family's hands for decades but was replanted in 2001 with mass-selection cuttings taken from Stéphane Moreau's most treasured vines. Now that those vines have reached twenty years, Virginie Moreau judges them ready to join the range. Almost a hectare is farmed high on the hill, catching only the coolest sun, so this is among the last sites picked each year. Raised in stainless steel, the wine keeps the tension and pithy citrus cut of the site alongside its floral side.

Drink from release and over the next eight to ten years in magnum; serve with oysters, grilled fish or chicken in a cream sauce at 10-12°C.
