Domaine Moreau-Naudet Chablis 1er Cru Forêts 1.5L MAGNUM 2022

Domaine Moreau-Naudet Chablis 1er Cru Forêts, in magnum, comes from two plots high on the slope, one alongside Vincent Dauvissat's vines.

Forêts is a historical sub-plot within the premier cru Montmains, high up the slope and facing south-east, and the late Stéphane Moreau called it one of the greatest terroirs of Chablis. Dauvissat and Raveneau also hold parcels here, which says something about its standing. Moreau-Naudet farms two plots totalling just under two hectares: the first, next to Vincent Dauvissat's vines, is planted with vines of about sixty years, while the second, with 25-year-old vines, sits beside the Raveneau parcel. As with the other premiers crus apart from Montmains, the wine fermented and aged in both steel tank and used barrels of various sizes, about 30% of the total, and maturation now extends to two years. Sealed under Diam, it is tightly wound and linear with real depth.

It needs two or three years and will run for a decade in magnum; serve with scallops, roast chicken or aged Comté at 10-12°C.
