Domaine Moreau-Naudet Chablis 1er Cru Montmains 2022

Domaine Moreau-Naudet Chablis 1er Cru Montmains is drawn from 0.65 hectares of seventy-year-old vines across three lieux-dits.

Montmains sits across the Valvan valley from Vaillons, on a deep soil of bleu d'argile, the local blue clay, with plenty of limestone rock through it, and the cru is known for producing textbook Chablis of minerality and verve. The domaine's parcels lie in Les Monts Mains, Les Bouts des Butteaux and Vaux Miolot, the last of these on deeper, clayey ground that is hard to work but adds flesh and texture to the blend. Vine age averages around seventy years and yields are low. This year the wine was vinified and aged without any oak in order to maximise freshness, and the result keeps the depth of the site while staying bright and balanced. Sealed under Diam.

Ready on release and good for six to eight years; serve with oysters, grilled fish or a fresh goat's cheese at 10-12°C.
