Description

Domaine Stéphane Magnien Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Faconnières lies directly east of the Clos de la Roche.

A 0.57-hectare block of poor, stony ground carries vines spanning 1952 to 2002; the wine takes twelve months in cask at twenty per cent new oak before a short spell in stainless steel.

Open and expressive, with a light touch of wood under ripe fruit, fresh on entry and full through the middle with well-knit tannins. Serve at 16-18°C with roast duck, beef ribs or truffled pasta.
