Description
Domaine Vincent Latour Meursault Les Grand Charrons is a village level white Burgundy from Meursault, drawn from a named parcel on the upper part of the slope close to the village itself.
Meursault sits between Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet in the Cote de Beaune and is the reference point for oak aged Chardonnay in Burgundy. Les Grands Charrons is a lieu-dit, a named vineyard that carries the village appellation rather than premier cru status, and growers who bottle such parcels separately do so because the site has a character worth keeping apart. Domaine Vincent Latour is based in the village, with Vincent Latour having taken over the running of the family estate in the mid 2000s. Grapes are hand picked and whole bunch pressed, then fermented and aged in barrel with modest new oak and a long spell on lees.
Serve lightly chilled at around 12 degrees alongside roast chicken, pork or shellfish; it drinks well on release and will hold for a good few years.
