Domaine Yves Cuilleron Côte-Rôtie 'Lieu-Dit Bonnivières' Syrah 2024

Domaine Yves Cuilleron Côte-Rôtie 'Lieu-Dit Bonnivières' Syrah is a deep, savoury red drawn from a single hillside at Ampuis.

Mica schist runs under the vines on this east-facing site, worked at high density and without insecticides to keep crops small. Sorting, partial destemming and a native-yeast ferment in cooled open vats come first, then malolactic and eighteen months in barriques.

Dark fruit, tobacco and a faint roasted edge sit above a rich, rounded palate with silky tannins and a powerful close. Give it plenty of air, serve at 16-18°C, and match with braised beef cheek or an aged hard cheese.
