Famiglia Cotarella Falesco 'Tellus' Syrah IGP is a rich and powerful red wine from the Lazio region in central Italy. Recipe

Braised Lamb Shanks

Ingredients:

  • 4 lamb shanks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F). Season lamb shanks with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large ovenproof pot and sear lamb shanks until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté onion, carrots, and garlic until softened. Stir in tomato paste, red wine, and beef stock. Add rosemary.
  4. Return lamb shanks to the pot, cover, and braise in the oven for 2-3 hours until tender.
  5. Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.

Tip: Pair with Tellus Syrah for a rich and satisfying meal.
