Description
Description
Fat Bastard Chardonnay comes from California's North Coast, in a label that began in southern France.
The name came from a cellar in the Languedoc, where the English winemaker Guy Anderson and the Frenchman Thierry Boudinaud tasted a barrel that had sat on its lees through the winter and one of them pronounced it a fat bastard. The brand has since extended beyond France to work with fruit from other countries. California's North Coast, cooled by Pacific fog, gives Chardonnay ripeness with acidity intact.
Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, seafood or a creamy pasta. Drink within four years.
