Description

Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Chardonnay comes from the cooler southern end of the valley.

Napa is better known for Cabernet, but its southern reaches near Carneros draw cold air off San Pablo Bay, which is where Chardonnay performs. Freemark Abbey has been making wine at St Helena since 1886 and was one of the two California estates represented in both the red and white flights at the 1976 Paris tasting. The wine is barrel-fermented with lees ageing.

Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, lobster or a creamy pasta. Drink over the next six years.
