Giant Steps Sexton Chardonnay 1.5L MAGNUM 2023

Giant Steps Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay comes from the home vineyard at Gruyere, in the Lower Yarra Valley.

Sexton was planted in 1997 on the valley floor near Gruyere, on sandy clay loam, and is the vineyard the winery is built around, named for founder Phil Sexton. The Lower Yarra is warmer than the upper valley, which gives Chardonnay a broader shape while the region's cool nights keep acidity in place. The wine is whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented in French oak and matured on lees.

Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, scallops or a creamy pasta. It develops over eight years.
