Giant Steps Yarra Valley LDR Pinot Noir Shiraz 2024

Giant Steps LDR is a blend of Pinot Noir and Shiraz, a pairing with a long history in Australian red winemaking.

LDR stands for light dry red, the name once given to the style, and blending the two varieties was common practice in Victoria before single-variety labelling took hold. The Yarra Valley suits both grapes at moderate ripeness, so the wine stays fresh rather than heavy. The parcels are co-fermented with whole bunches and native yeast and matured briefly in old oak, then bottled young.

Serve slightly cool at 14 degrees with charcuterie, roast chicken or a picnic lunch. Drink within four years.
