Description

HEAD Riesling comes from the Eden Valley, high on the ranges above the Barossa floor.

The Eden Valley sits several hundred metres higher than the Barossa, on ancient weathered soils, and its cold nights make it one of Australia's two benchmark Riesling regions. For a label built on Rhône reds, the Riesling is the outlier in the range. Alex Head works a number of old-vine sites across both valleys. The wine is fermented cool and bottled dry without oak.

Serve at 8 degrees with seafood, salads or Asian food. It will develop for a decade.
