JC's Own Freestyler 2023

JC's Own Freestyler is a white blend drawn from the western ridge of the Barossa Valley.

JC's Own is the personal label of Barossa winemaker Jaysen Collins, co-founder of Massena, and its wines are made in small volumes from sites on and around the Barossa's western ridge. This elevated stretch of the valley, taking in districts such as Seppeltsfield, Marananga and Greenock, has well drained sandy and ironstone soils and benefits from slightly cooler nights than the valley floor, helping white grapes hold freshness in a warm climate. Freestyler is, as its name suggests, a free form blend of white varieties from these vineyards rather than a single varietal wine, assembled to give a white with texture and generosity as well as balance. It is a wine intended for enjoyment rather than cellaring.

Easygoing and textural, it works with salads, grilled fish, Asian dishes and antipasto; serve at around 10 degrees.
