Les Cortis Brisûre Rosé 2022

Les Cortis Brisûre Rosé is an equal blend of Altesse and Gamay pressed straight to seasoned demi-muids and left there for up to two years.

Brisûre comes from two of Jérémy Decoster's plots close to the town of Bugey, where Savoie's white variety Altesse grows alongside Gamay. The Altesse comes from La Guele, a small parcel at 350 metres with forty-five-year-old vines on limestone. The Gamay comes from La Route, at 330 metres, where the vines are around seventy years old on similar but stonier ground. Both parcels are pressed immediately on arrival and fermented in seasoned demi-muids, where the wine then matures for between twelve and twenty-four months, an unusually long élevage for a rosé. Decoster adds only trace amounts of sulphur and bottles unfined and unfiltered. The result is closer to a light, textured white than to a conventional pale summer rosé.

Drink over the next two or three years with charcuterie, grilled prawns or roast vegetables. Serve at 10-12°C.
