Description

Louis Jadot Combe aux Jacques is a Beaujolais-Villages Gamay from the granite hills north of Lyon.

Beaujolais-Villages covers the better communes in the north of the region, where decomposed granite gives Gamay lift and fine tannin rather than the soft, simple character of the basic appellation. Maison Louis Jadot was founded at Beaune in 1859 and has held land in Beaujolais since acquiring Château des Jacques in 1996. The fruit is fermented whole-bunch in the Beaujolais manner and aged briefly in tank and old oak.

Serve slightly cool at 14 degrees with charcuterie, roast chicken or a cheese board. Drink within four years.
