Ministry of Clouds Picpoul 2025

Ministry of Clouds Picpoul is a McLaren Vale white made from Picpoul, a Mediterranean grape prized for its natural acidity.

Ministry of Clouds was founded by Julian Forwood and Bernice Ong, who make wine from carefully selected vineyards across South Australia from their base in McLaren Vale. Picpoul, also written Piquepoul, is a grape from the Languedoc in southern France, best known for Picpoul de Pinet on the Mediterranean coast; its name refers to its lip-stinging acidity. That natural freshness makes it well suited to the warm, maritime climate of McLaren Vale, where sea breezes from Gulf St Vincent moderate the summer heat. The wine is made without oak to keep it crisp and saline, and is bottled under screwcap.

Fresh and light-bodied, it suits oysters, prawns, calamari and simple seafood dishes; serve at around 8 to 10 degrees.
