Moccagatta Barbaresco 'Cole' 2018

Moccagatta Barbaresco 'Cole' is a single-vineyard Nebbiolo from another of the estate's named holdings within the Barbaresco appellation.

Moccagatta is a family-run winery farming vineyards across Barbaresco and neighbouring Neive, in Piedmont's Langhe hills. The Cole cru sits among the clay-and-limestone slopes that give Barbaresco its characteristic lift and perfume, and the estate's cru bottlings are typically vinified and aged separately to highlight the differences between its individual sites. Moccagatta's style tends toward a slightly more generous, polished expression of Nebbiolo, while retaining the fine tannin and savoury structure the appellation is known for.

This is an elegant, structured red suited to roast meats, mushroom dishes and aged cheeses, a fine example of site-specific Barbaresco winemaking.
