Description

Mountadam High Eden Estate Chardonnay is the winery's flagship white, from the original 1972 plantings.

High Eden is a sub-region of the Eden Valley at the top of the ridge, and Mountadam's vineyards there are among the highest and coolest in South Australia. David Wynn planted them in 1972 specifically to grow Chardonnay in a cool site, which was unusual thinking at the time. The wine is whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented in French oak and matured on lees.

Serve at 12 degrees with crab, roast chicken or a rich fish dish. It rewards eight to ten years.
