Mt. Brave Mt. Veeder Malbec 2019

Mt. Brave Malbec is a rare Napa mountain bottling of a variety usually kept for blending.

Malbec is grown in Napa mostly as a minor component in Bordeaux blends, so a varietal version from Mount Veeder is unusual. The appellation's thin volcanic soils and elevation above the fog line give the variety structure and acidity it rarely shows in warmer, flatter sites. Fruit is hand-picked from steep blocks and matured in French oak.

Decant and serve at 17 degrees with grilled beef, lamb or a spiced stew. It develops over fifteen years.
