Murdoch Hill The Tilbury Chardonnay 2023

Murdoch Hill The Tilbury is a single-block Chardonnay from the family's Oakbank vineyards.

The Tilbury is one of the estate's carriage-named top wines, taken from a block Michael Downer judges best each year. Adelaide Hills altitude keeps the acidity taut through barrel fermentation and extended lees ageing, which is what gives the wine its length. Native yeast and French oak are used throughout, with new wood kept in check.

Serve at 12 degrees with crab, roast chicken or a rich fish dish. It rewards eight years.
