Description

Nick O'Leary Seven Gates Tempranillo is a Canberra District red from the Spanish variety.

Tempranillo ripens early and keeps structure without high alcohol, which suits the Canberra District's short, cool season at 600 metres. It gives savoury red fruit and firm tannin rather than sweetness. The Seven Gates vineyard is one of several sites Nick O'Leary works around Murrumbateman. Maturation is in seasoned oak.

Serve at 16 degrees with chorizo, lamb or a slow-cooked stew. Drink over the next eight years.
