Paolo Scavino Barolo Bricco Ambrogio DOCG 1.5L MAGNUM 2020

Paolo Scavino Barolo Bricco Ambrogio DOCG is grown in Roddi, the northernmost commune of the Barolo appellation and one of its quietest corners.

Roddi lies at the top of the zone, nearer to Alba than to the famous hills of Serralunga and La Morra, and for much of the twentieth century its calcareous marl slopes were little regarded. Scavino took on Bricco Ambrogio at the beginning of the 2000s and the cru has since been recognised as one of the finest sites in the commune. The estate itself was founded at Castiglione Falletto in 1921 and has been guided by Enrico Scavino since the 1950s, now with his daughters Enrica and Elisa. Fermentation is in stainless steel with an extended maceration, followed by ageing in French oak.

Decant ahead of serving at around 18 degrees with braised meats, agnolotti del plin or a mushroom ragu. It has the structure to age well in the cellar.
