Description
Paolo Scavino Barolo Riserva Rocche dell'Annunziata Museum Release is a 100% Nebbiolo from Rocche dell'Annunziata, one of the historic great crus of La Morra in Piemonte's Langhe. The Scavino family's vineyards here sit at around 385 metres with a south to south-east exposure, on soils combining sandstone, pale sand and limestone. The site is renowned for producing a particularly refined and elegant expression of Barolo while retaining the structure and longevity expected of great Nebbiolo.
Founded in 1921 by Lorenzo Scavino and his son Paolo, the estate has become one of Barolo's benchmark family producers, with Enrico Scavino and the fourth generation, Enrica and Elisa, continuing its focus on the individual character of the Langhe's great vineyards. This 2000 Museum Release is especially significant in 1.5L magnum: after more than 25 years, it offers mature Barolo from a prestigious cru in a format prized for its slower evolution and ability to preserve freshness over extended ageing.
Stand the magnum upright well before opening to settle any sediment, then decant carefully and serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with braised beef, game, truffle dishes, porcini or mature Piedmontese cheeses.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
