Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino is a Sangiovese from the south-western side of the Montalcino hill, made by the Antinori family.

Montalcino is a hill town in southern Tuscany where Sangiovese, known locally as Brunello, is grown on its own and given years of ageing in cask and bottle before release, more than the rules demand of any other Italian red. Pian delle Vigne takes its name from the railway station that stands on the property, and was acquired by Antinori in 1995. It sits on the warmer, drier south-western flank of the hill, at lower elevation than the northern slopes, on soils of clay and stone. The wine is aged in large oak casks in the traditional manner of the zone. Brunello became one of Italy's first DOCG wines in 1980.

It will keep for many years; serve at cool room temperature with roast or grilled red meat, game and aged pecorino.
