Description
Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Spécial Club 'Cuis 1er Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs' Extra Brut is a vintage Chardonnay Champagne from the family's home premier cru, finished with very little dosage.
Pierre Gimonnet & Fils is a Chardonnay specialist based at Cuis in the Cote des Blancs, with old vine holdings in the grand crus of Cramant, Chouilly and Oger, and a style built on stainless steel fermentation, no oak and restrained dosage. Spécial Club is the label of the Club Trésors de Champagne, an association of grower producers formed in the early 1970s, whose rules require that the wine come from the member's own vines, carry a single vintage, and pass two blind tastings by fellow members before release in the club's distinctive bottle. Cuis is the family's own village, its north facing slopes ripening later than the grand crus below and holding acidity, which suits a finish with almost no dosage.
Serve at around 10 degrees, ideally in a white wine glass, with oysters, raw or lightly cooked fish, or a plate of goat's cheese.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
