Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill Gift Box 2015

Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill Gift Box is the prestige vintage Champagne of the house of Pol Roger, presented in its own gift box.

Created in tribute to the statesman who was among the house's most devoted customers, the cuvée was first made from the 1975 vintage and is released only in the best years. The exact blend is a family secret, but it is always led by Pinot Noir with Chardonnay in support, sourced from grand cru vineyards that were already under vine in Churchill's lifetime. Still family owned and based in Épernay since 1849, Pol Roger ages its wines in some of the deepest and coolest cellars in the region, and the bottles are still riddled by hand. The long rest on lees gives a rich, structured style built for ageing.

Chill well, to around 8 to 10 degrees, and use a white wine glass so the wine has room to open. Robust enough for the table, it partners lobster, roast chicken, veal, truffled dishes and mature Comté. It can be enjoyed now or cellared for a decade or more, and the box makes it an easy gift.
