Pol Roger Pure Gift Box NV

Pol Roger Pure Gift Box is a non vintage champagne bottled with no dosage at all, presented in a gift carton.

Almost all champagne receives a dosage, a small addition of sugar after disgorgement that balances the wine's natural acidity. Pure is bottled with none, which leaves nothing to soften the wine and so demands ripe fruit from well sited vineyards. It rests on the same foundations as the house's Brut Réserve, blending Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier from a wide spread of villages, and is aged in the deep chalk cellars beneath Épernay where the family has worked since 1849. Pol Roger remains independent and family owned, and still riddles its bottles by hand, which few houses of its size continue to do. The result is a champagne stripped back to the blend itself, with no sweetness standing between the drinker and the wine.

Serve well chilled, at around 8 degrees, as an aperitif or with oysters, sushi and raw shellfish.
