Quinta do Noval Olive Oil 500ml

Quinta do Noval Olive Oil is a cold-pressed extra virgin oil from the estate's own ancient groves in the Douro, in a half-litre bottle.

Quinta do Noval is best known for Port, but the property has never been a monoculture. Alongside a menagerie of ducks, geese and pigs it produces a range of organic produce including olives, oranges, figs, clementines and walnuts. The estate farms 25 hectares of olive groves, most of the trees more than 200 years old, planted to Portuguese varieties including Cordovil, Madural, Verdeal and Galega. The trees are farmed traditionally, without irrigation, and pruned by hand, as they have been for generations in the schist terraces of the Douro. All the fruit is cold-pressed, the method that preserves the most flavour and the highest polyphenol content, and the oil is bottled as extra virgin.

Use it uncooked where the flavour will show: over grilled bread, tomatoes, white beans or grilled fish, and keep the bottle out of the light.
