Reichsrat von Buhl Pfalz Riesling Trocken 2021

Reichsrat von Buhl Pfalz Riesling Trocken is the estate's dry entry-level Riesling, from certified organic vineyards in the Mittelhaardt.

Von Buhl is one of the historic estates of the Pfalz, and this wine draws on its holdings around Deidesheim, Forst and Ruppertsberg, three villages whose sandstone-rich slopes are among the best sites in the region. All of the vineyards are certified organic. Most of the juice was fermented with natural yeasts in tank, with some parcels going into the estate's oval Doppelstück casks, the large old oak vessels traditional in the Pfalz, which allow a slow exchange of air without adding oak flavour. Even at this level the wine is given six months on its gross lees, which builds texture and weight. There was no pumping at any stage and sulphur additions were kept very low. The wine is finished dry, in the drier style the estate has followed for some years.

Drink over the next five years; serve at 10-11°C with grilled prawns, pork schnitzel or a mild curry.
