Réserve Mont-Redon Côtes-du-Rhône rouge 2024

Reserve Mont-Redon Cotes-du-Rhone rouge is the everyday southern Rhone red from one of the historic estates of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

Chateau Mont-Redon is among the largest and longest established properties in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and the Reserve label carries its Cotes du Rhone wines. The fruit is grown on the sandy and stony soils around Orange and Roquemaure, ground that is warm and free draining and suited to the early ripening of Grenache. Grenache leads the blend with Syrah adding colour and pepper, and the wine is fermented and aged entirely in tank so that the fruit remains fresh and unoaked. It is bottled under a stelvin screwcap, a deliberate choice for a wine designed to be drunk within a few years of the vintage rather than cellared.

Round, easy and unoaked, it suits burgers, charcuterie and tomato-based dishes and takes a light chill; serve at around 15 to 16 degrees.
