Sailor Seeks Horse Small Wonder Chardonnay 2024

Sailor Seeks Horse Small Wonder Chardonnay is the estate's second-label cool-climate Chardonnay from the Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania.

Small Wonder is the second label of Sailor Seeks Horse, the Huon Valley estate of Paul and Gilli Lipscombe south of Hobart, and is made from fruit grown in the Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania. The Tamar is Tasmania's largest wine region, following the river estuary north of Launceston, where the moderating influence of the water and a long, cool ripening season keep acidity high and alcohol moderate. The range is made with the same hands-on, minimal-intervention approach as the estate wines, and is designed to be enjoyed younger than the single vineyard bottlings. The Chardonnay is fermented partly in older French oak and sealed under screwcap to keep it fresh.

Crisp and fresh, it suits oysters, grilled fish and chicken salads; serve at around 9 to 11 degrees.
