Description
Saint Max IGP Mediterranee Rose is a pale, dry southern French rose bottled under screwcap.
IGP Mediterranee is a regional indication covering the south east of France, taking in Provence, the southern Rhone and the coastal departments, and it is used for wines made outside the boundaries or the rules of the local appellations. Rose dominates the category and the style is the modern Provencal one: pale in colour, dry, and picked early to hold acidity, with the juice run off the skins after a short maceration and fermented cool in stainless steel. Grenache and Cinsault are the usual backbone, Cinsault in particular giving the delicacy and pale colour the style depends on. The stelvin closure protects that freshness in bottle.
Dry, light and made for drinking young, it suits salads, grilled fish, charcuterie and warm weather generally; serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
