Description
Swinging Bridge Caldwell Lane Chardonnay is a single-vineyard wine from the Orange region in central New South Wales.
Orange is defined by altitude: the vineyards ring Gaanha-Bula, Mount Canobolas, an extinct volcano, and sites above 600 metres ripen weeks later than the surrounding country, which is why Chardonnay here keeps such fine acidity. Swinging Bridge was founded in 1995 by the Ward and Payten families, with Tom and Georgie Ward taking the helm in 2008. The wine is barrel-fermented and matured on lees.
Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, fish or a soft cheese. It develops over six years.
